Grammys 2023
A lot happened at last night’s Grammys. Here is a quick rundown of some of them.
Drake Wins Grammy Despite Snubbing Awards
Drake won his first Grammy in four years despite refusing to submit any of his latest music for consideration. He won Best Rap Melodic Performance alongside Future and Tems at last night’s Grammy Awards ceremony. He was nominated for 3 other categories but only took home one award. In 2020, Drake criticized the Grammys and said, “I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards and just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artist that exists now and the ones that come after.” So why do you think Beyonce should have won Album of The Year?
Quavo & Offset Get Into Fight Backstage At Grammys
Reportedly, Quavo and Offset got into it backstage at the Grammys over the tribute to Takeoff. Offset wanted to be on stage to participate in the performance honoring Takeoff’s memory, but Quavo wouldn’t allow it. The fight erupted when Quavo physically blocked Offset from going on stage for the tribute performance. Offset’s people allege that Quavo started the whole battle. Many fans are distraught over the fact that the two of them are still at odds, even since the passing of their brother. So why do you think Quavo was wrong for not allowing Offset to get on stage to perform?
There’s clearly still serious bad blood between Migos’ rappers Quavo and Offset following the death of Takeoff … and those emotions boiled over backstage at The Grammys into a physical fight. https://t.co/SVTAE2unRd

Will Smith Dropped Out Of Surprise Grammys Performance
Questlove recently shared that Will Smith dropped out of the surprise Grammys performance celebrating hip-hop music. Questlove said, “I’ll give the spoiler alert away. Will Smith was a part of the festivities tonight, but they started shooting Bad Boys 4 this week.” He continued, “There were a lot of preliminary shots that he had to do, so we had to lose Will.” He also added that it took a lot of work to get everyone to participate in this celebration of hip-hop because of everyone’s schedule. The production for Bad Boy 4 is underway, and Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are already back in action. So which hip-hop artist were you disappointed not to see during the surprise performance?
JAY-Z Performs ‘God Did’ At 2023 Grammy Awards
JAY-Z put his mark on the 2023 Grammy Awards by performing “God Did” with DJ Khaled, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, John Legend, and Friday at the show’s end. The performance was held outside Crypto.com’s area on Saturday night (February 5). Hov sprinted through his show-stopping verse while sitting behind an elegant dinner table with Ross, Wayne, and Khaled, as well as devoted friends “OG Juan” Perez and Emory “Vegas” Jones, who are both mentioned in the song. “God Did” had three nominations going into Sunday night’s event. JAY-Z is the most nominated artist in Grammy history with 88. However, his wife, Beyoncé, made history with 32 Grammy wins, the most for any artist. So what did you think of the “God Did” performance and JAY-Z’s four-minute verse?
