Last Friday, J. Cole and the Dreamville camp dropped their collaborative project ‘Revenge of the Dreamers III’. On the final track, “Sacrifices”, J. Cole made a big announcement, revealing that his wife Melissa Heholt is pregnant with their 2nd child.
Cole’s verse finishes the song, and starts by confessing his love and loyalty for his wife.
“I had nowhere to go, she gave me a place to stay/She gave me her heart to hold/I still got that shit to this day,” he spits. “She ridin’ with me on the road/She ridin’ with me in the A/Huggin’ the block, huggin’ the block, okay.”
He continues with the big news.
“She gave me the gift of my son, and plus we got one on the way/She gave me a family to love, for that, I can never repay, I’m crying while writing these words/The tears, they feel good on my face.”
It appears Cole was excited to share the news as he simply tweeted, “Sacrifices” on July 6th.

“Cole and Heholt married in 2015 and have one child together. Rather than live in Los Angeles near the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, the couple moved closer to his hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina and rented a spot in the suburbs for his Dreamvillle imprint.
In a 2017 interview with the New York Times, Cole admitted fame wasn’t something he really embraced.
“Any reasonable person would be ecstatic,” Cole said. “I didn’t have that feeling.””
