Twitter’s been having a lot of fun lately with Katelynn A. Lovelady, a student from Louisiana who accidentally applied to SLCC in Utah instead of SLCC in her home state. She tweeted about the mishap which led politicians and schools in both states to playfully compete over which state is better.
I just applied to SLCC for summer class only to realize it’s Salt Lake Community College in SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH instead of SOUTH LOUISIANA COMMUNITY COLLEGE. GOODBYE $40!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An anonymous Utah businessperson has offered to fly Katelynn out to Utah to see the campus in April, which she accepted. Salt Lake Community College has also offered to reimburse her $40 application fee if she decides to choose another college.
@KaitlynnLovelad , much like @SpencerJCox and @SaltLakeCC , we’d be happy to have you in Utah. We’ll even host another Mardi Gras event next year to make you feel at home! #saltlakesmardigrasgala #beutahful #utah #TheCountyLibrary #kaitlynnlovelady pic.twitter.com/GYwxTUfeBF
