A Remix to Sip On: Madlib’s “One Beer”
At the heart of this reissue is a new remix from Madlib, DOOM’s close collaborator and kindred musical spirit. His reimagining of Mm..Food standout “One Beer” gives the track a fresh twist, blending Madlib’s off-kilter production with DOOM distinctive rhymes. The remix is already available to stream, offering a taste of the new flavor that Madlib brings to the table.
In addition to Madlib’s take, remixes by Jake One and Atmosphere’s Ant provide a new perspective on tracks like “Hoe Cakes,” while a Beatboxapella version of the same song lets listeners dive deep into DOOM’s intricate vocal delivery.

Super7 Collectible is also getting in on the action, dropping exclusive merchandise tied to the release, including an MF DOOM action figure and a cereal bowl set, an on-the-nose nod to the food-themed concept of the album.
The Timeless Appeal of Mm..Food
Originally released in 2004, Mm..Food proves MF DOOM’s wit, lyrical dexterity, love for complex internal rhymes, and his imagination for non-sequitor metaphors. Tracks like “Beef Rapp,” “Hoe Cakes,” and “Rapp Snitch Knishes” showcase MF DOOM’s ability to dissect the rap game and life itself with humor, insight, and razor-sharp delivery.
DOOM’s penchant for conceptual, often esoteric rap places him in the same realm as groups like De La Soul. Their innovative style also left a lasting impact on the genre, and you discover which DOOM colloboration mane the list for the best songs from De La Soul.
The album’s playful but dense approach earned it a spot in the pantheon of classic underground records. It’s a project that continues to resonate, not just for its wordplay but for its innovation in production and conceptual cohesion.
Doom’s Enduring Legacy
Though MF DOOM, born Dumile Daniel Thompson, passed away on October 31, 2020, his influence in hip-hop is far from diminished. His death, as reported by various outlets, including MF Doom’s passing at 49, was caused by complications related to angioedema, a rare condition that led to severe respiratory issues. Tributes poured in from artists like Tyler, the Creator, Flying Lotus, and Thom Yorke, all of whom hailed DOOM as a visionary.
Since his passing, MF DOOM’s legacy has been kept alive through various posthumous releases and tributes. In 2021, his collaborative project with Czarface, Super What?, dropped to critical acclaim, and remixes of his work continue to surface, cementing his status as one of hip-hop’s most enigmatic figures.
