The majority of us are familiar with how the song sounds. However, Sampha managed to erase everything I remember about it and pretty much made the track his own. Instead of the upbeat record we’re used to, “Controlla” gets a transformation as Sampha slows things down a bit with a piano-led rendition.
Sampha has worked with Drake on multiple occasions. Most recently he appeared on Drake’s Playlist More Life with “4422” and he also teamed up on the 2013 Nothing Was The Same album with “Too Much.” Listen below.
