Spring Forward…
It’s something we all hate doing, but it happens each year. The bad news is that we spring forward one hour Sunday at 2:00 am. The good news is that it will be lighter in the evenings now.
The time change could, and most likely will, mess with your body. You’re susceptible to a higher risk of heart attack and stroke, not to mention the new sleeping troubles. Sleep patterns can be affected for 5 to 7 days after the time change.
The trick to beat daylight saving time is to start moving your internal clock ahead now before it happens on Sunday. Here are a few tips to help:
- Be sure to adjust your bedtime and wake up time. Train your body slowly to get used to the new time change by going to bed 5-10 minutes each night before the switch.
- Don’t sleep in Sunday morning, if you’re extremely tired be sure to take a 20-minute nap, but no more than that.
- Enjoy the extra sunlight and exercise to help your body adjust.
- Resist that extra cup of coffee.
Do you have tips that help you each daylight saving time?
