If you keep track of what’s trending online then you’ve probably come across a well-known vine of the rapper Rick Ross. In the video he shouts out “all the pear,” he recently lost a lot of weight due to his seld-described “Ross-fit” diet.
During the video he was talking about the benefits of getting healthy during an interview with Tim Westwood. The vine has gone viral and has become a total hit.
Apart from the hilariousness of this vine, pear farmers are very grateful with Ross’s endorsement of the fruit.
Today, USA Pears’ spokeswoman, Kathy Stephenson made a statement on the matter.
“On behalf of our 1,600 pear growers from the Northwest region, we are pleased that Rick has mentioned the health benefits of pears,” said Stephenson in an email to Modern Farmer. She also added that pears provide 24% of the recommended daily fiber intake.
“Overall, we could not be more pleased with our message being delivered to a new, young and hip demographic.”
As funny as the vine was, and as many laughs as viewers had continuously; the “shout out to all the pear” came in handy for Ross.
